Astronomy Requirements

Vanguard Prep has teamed up with the High Desert Astronomical Society (HiDAS) to provide hands-on astronomy viewing. Several times a month HiDAS provides public viewings of the night sky. Every student is required to attend one viewing during their 8th grade year.

Print out the atached form (HiDAS Viewing Event Form), write down what you observed, and have a HiDAS member sign at the bottom.

Extra viewings will count towards extra credit.

Visit HiDAS Event Calendar to verify time and location. Times will vary by date. Good astronomical viewing takes place at night.

Visit HiDAS Directions to check locations.
